St. Anthony Sends Out Special Thank You During National Volunteer Week

As St. Anthony Regional Hospital celebrates National Volunteer week, from April 19 through April 25, CEO, Ed Smith, says he wants to send out a heartfelt thank you to their hundreds of volunteers. He says these people have selflessly donated their time and talents to the hospital, St. Anthony Regional Nursing Home, Garden View and Orchard View since 1905, and all have done so in ways that have enhanced their mission of quality and compassionate healthcare. “Today’s volunteers are an important part of the daily activities at St. Anthony,” Smith says. “They provide hospitality in the coffee and gift shop, greet visitors at the front desks, in the atrium and surgery center, make blankets for newborns and prayer shawls for the ill, care for Hospice patients, offer spiritual support to patients and nursing home residents and much, much more.” He adds that even more volunteers assist with special projects to build financial resources. “Each volunteer brings special talents and abilities that are freely given to make our community a better place to live, work and raise our families.” Smith says that in addition to the extension of their most sincere gratitude to the more than 500 volunteers, he wants them to know they have been missed during the COVID-19 pandemic and they look forward to seeing them all again soon.
