The 42nd annual Friends of Kuemper Ball was held this (Saturday) evening at the Kuemper Fieldhouse in Carroll and raised over $560,000 for the Kuemper Catholic School System. Alumni, staff, parents, and other benefactors gathered in support of the parochial school in what has become the central piece of fundraising efforts at Kuemper over the last four decades. The evening’s dinner was catered by Lidderdale County Store. The evening’s auctioneers included Steve Seidl and Chris Ludwig, and the Heider Family Foundation matched the first $10,000 raised during the Ball Blitz. By the end of the evening the grand total had reached $564,171. The winner of the $25,000 Vehicle Raffle, sponsored by Champion Ford, Macke Motors, Motor Inn, New Way Ford, Team Auto Group, and Wittrock Motor Company, was Dan Bauer. The $10,000 Ag Raffle, sponsored by Haley Equipment, Rueter’s, and Van Wall Equipment, went to Knobbe Plumbing and Heating. The band, Mighty Mayhem, provided live entertainment for the evening’s festivities. This year’s ball co-chairs were Matta and Laura Hausman and Dani and Ryan Steinkamp. Over the last 42 years, the Friends of Kuemper Ball has raised more than $14.5 million for the school system, benefiting a variety of essential needs for Kuemper such as tuition assistance, technology improvements, teacher salary enhancements, curriculum development, building maintenance, and more.
