Carroll County Supervisors Schedule Closed Session For Monday’s Agenda

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors convenes on Monday with a lengthy agenda, including a closed session near the end of the meeting. The proceedings begin at 9 a.m. in the supervisors’ meeting room at the Carroll County Courthouse. They’ll open with consideration of changes to the county’s 457B deferred compensation plan. The county currently offers a similar program to its staff, but switching to a nearly identical state-managed plan could benefit both the county and its employees. County Engineer Zac Andersen will then present an updated Iowa DOT five-year road project plan for approval. The supervisors have several policy and budget items to consider, including setting a public hearing on a Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 budget amendment, zoning waivers, updates to contractor management for county projects, a township trustee appointment, and a resolution concerning opioid settlement funds. At the end of the meeting, the supervisors will enter closed session under Iowa Code 21.5(1)(c), “to discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent, where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body in that litigation.” No formal action on the topic of the closed session is scheduled for when the supervisors return to open session. Again, the Monday, April 27 meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Carroll County Courthouse. Links to the agenda and video live-stream are included below.
