The Lake City Fire Department responded to a fire at the maintenance shed at Lake City Country Club and aided Lohrville Fire Department in a hog confinement fire on Tuesday. According to Lake City Fire Chief Lynn Boyd, the department was dispatched at approximately 8:40 a.m., to a utility cart that was being used caught fire inside one of the sheds at the golf course. When crews arrived on scene, the fire was through the roof of the building. The department remained on scene for roughly an hour, battling the blaze. The north half of the building is a total loss, while the south half received significant damage from smoke, which included much of the ground’s equipment. No injuries were reported. The Lake City department was then called out to assist the Lohrville Fire Department for a hog confinement west of Lohrville. The structure located south of Gemberling Excavating Inc, caught fire, but no livestock was in the building at the time. The confinement was deemed a total loss.
