The Carroll Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of the 2026 Carroll County Agricultural Scholarship, awarding five local students $1,000 each to support their education in agriculture-related fields. Scholarship recipients include Joe Klein of Manning, Landon Rohrbeck of Glidden, Reed Vonnahme of Arcadia, Jake Wieland of Templeton, and Mara Woolsey of Glidden. Klein, a senior at Kuemper Catholic High School, plans to study agricultural business at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in Ankeny. Rohrbeck, a senior at Glidden-Ralston High School, will pursue agricultural business at Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) in Fort Dodge. Vonnahme also attends Kuemper Catholic and plans to enroll in the John Deere Diesel Technology Program at Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC). Wieland, another Kuemper Catholic senior, will study agronomy at Iowa Central. Woolsey, a Glidden-Ralston senior and FFA president, plans to attend DMACC in Ankeny to study agricultural business. The scholarship program is a joint initiative of the Carroll Chamber of Commerce and the Carroll County Cattlemen. Funding comes from local business donations, proceeds from the Chamber Ag Golf Outing, and a special livestock auction held in 1987.
