Fort Dodge Man Sentenced For Multi-County Meth Distribution Conspiracy

A Fort Dodge man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy in north-central Iowa. Forty-two-year-old Aaron StandsAndLooksBack, also known as Aaron Woodman, was sentenced Jan. 29 to 300 months in prison after pleading guilty last June to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. Federal prosecutors say StandsAndLooksBack conspired to distribute at least 45 kilograms of methamphetamine between December 2020 and December 2023. Court records show he obtained meth by purchasing and stealing it from various sources, then redistributed it to others in the Fort Dodge area, including Carroll County. StandsAndLooksBack admitted to stealing sizable quantities of meth from his mother, who has also been sentenced to federal prison for methamphetamine trafficking. A federal judge also ordered StandsAndLooksBack to serve five years of supervised release following his prison term. There is no parole in the federal system. The case was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Laboratory.
