Iowa Fuel Report: Nov. 5, 2025

Fuel prices were up, but only slightly, in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, Nov. 5, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state was $2.81, one cent higher than last week and two cents below prices from a year ago. The national average for gasoline on Wednesday rose four cents to $3.08 per gallon. Iowa’s retail diesel prices came in with a statewide average of $3.59 per gallon, up six cents on the week and 25 cents higher than this time last year. Iowa prices remain 12 cents lower than the $3.71 national average. As for renewable at the Des Moines Terminal, E10 was $1.81, Unleaded 87 was $2.00, ULSD#2 was $2.52, ULSD#1 was $2.82, and E70 was $1.89. In heating fuels, propane prices were up one cent to $1.53 per gallon, home heating oil was up nine cents to $3.25 per gallon, and natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site jumped 42 cents to $4.27 per MMBtu.
