Two AC-GC High School students have been arrested for allegedly making threats of terrorism. According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the high school in Guthrie Center at approximately 8:15 a.m. after receiving a report that the two male students had threatened to harm other students and the AC-GC High School principal. Authorities say the students’ comments were initially made on Friday, Feb. 27, but they were not reported to law enforcement until Monday morning. Deputies attempted to locate the students but later determined the two teenage males were not in Guthrie County at the time. The juvenile suspects turned themselves in at the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon but refused to speak with deputies. Both teens are being charged with threat of terrorism, a class D felony, and will be transferred to a juvenile detention center. Authorities determined the students’ threats were not credible, but law enforcement maintained a presence at the high school throughout the day as a precaution.
