The Lake View Police Department is inviting all young anglers to test their skills and attempt to outfish the multiple law enforcement agencies that serve Sac County residents. This Saturday is the first event of “Fishin With the 5-0”, hosted by the Lake View Police Department at Camp Cresent. Chief of Police, George Athan says he was really pushing for the department to get more public relations events started in the community and when a member of the team approached him giving details of a fishing event, he said they were going to roll with it.

The event is open for kids 5 to 15 years old, accompanied by an adult. It is free and all fishing supplies will be provided. Athan says fishing is going to take place in Black Hawk Lake by the open shelter house at Camp Crecent Park. He says they are on the look out for kids who has what it takes to earn awards for: Most Likely to Outfish a Cop, Master of the Minnow, Small but Mighty, Future DNR Recruit and more.

While Athan says they do have a good number of kids already signed up, he would love to see more come interact with the Sac County Law Enforcement.

A link to register has been included with this story on our website. Athan says they would be grateful to any adult that would like to come out and help.

Again, join the agencies that make up the Sac County law enforcement team this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon on Black Hawk Lake with the first annual “Fishin with the 5-0”.
