Registration ends on Friday for the third annual Art in the Park summer camp hosted by the City of Glidden. This three-day camp is open to young artists who are entering kindergarten through 6th grade, with all different skill levels, to create a variety of projects. City Administrator Brooke Peterson says Art in the Park started after community members sparked interest in more kid-friendly activities to participate in during the summer months.
On Aug 5 through the 7, kids will be divided into age groups for three two-hour camps using different materials to create up to six crafts across the days. Peterson says new things are planned for this year’s projects but highlights some past crafts that the kids enjoyed.
Registration is due by this Friday to give Peterson enough time to purchase and gather supplies for all the crafts. She says that if anyone would like to volunteer on any of the days to help out, she is looking for additional assistance.

The cost is $30 per camper, which includes all necessary supplies for the projects and a daily snack. Peterson requests kids participating wear older clothes that can get marked on because things are going to get fun and messy.
