2021 Sac County Fair Begins Tuesday, July 27

The 2021 Sac County Fair officially begins this week with opening ceremonies Tuesday night at the fairgrounds in Sac City. The first event on the schedule is the fair’s little miss and mister contest at 6:15 p.m. and the crowning of the 2021 Sac County Fair queen at 6:45 p.m. According to Board President, Matt Naberhaus, the following four days are filled with activities for the whole family to enjoy. He says one of the highlights for this year is the debut of new facilities at the fairgrounds.

He adds the new barn and arena look great, and he cannot wait to see local 4-H and FFA kids showing their animals. The fun extends beyond traditional exhibits, with entertainment planned throughout each day of the fair. Attractions include mutton busting, a chainsaw artist and the Bill Riley Talent show with carnival rides, a petting zoo and more promising something for everyone. Naberhaus says each night ends with top-notch live shows in the grandstand.

Many fairs, including the Iowa State Fair, were forced to cancel or scale back their plans last year due to the coronavirus. Sac County was one of the few that kept their full schedule in 2020. Naberhaus says many people look forward to the fun of the Sac County Fair and that is definitely the case again this year.

The Sac County Fair runs from Tuesday, July 27 to Saturday, July 31 at the fairgrounds in Sac City. For more information and the full fair schedule, visit www.saccountyfair.com.
