Kuemper, Paton Churdan and East Sac At Ink Wunderly Relays At South Central Calhoun

It turned out to be a very nice night for track as the sun was shining early and then come clouds rolled in but only a few sprinkles fell late and the gusty wind didn’t seem to impact the runners. Madrid ran away with the team title with 204 points, followed by Pocahontas Area with 156. A pair of local schools took 3^rd, East Sac 83 points and Kuemper 4^th with 76. South Central Calhoun finished in 6^th with 53 points and Paton Churdan was 9^th with 10 points.

Cole Corey stole most of the show with four first place finishes but nipping at his heals was Logan Sibenaller who had three 2^nd place finishes. Corey scored 40 of South Central Calhoun points winning the Long Jump with a best of 20-02.00 in the first meet he competed in the event. He won the High Jump before finishing his last two jumps in the Long Jump. Corey cleared 5-8 and 5-10 on his first attempts before going for 6-4 since he had already won the event. He finished his nights with strong showings in the 110 Hurdles winning in 16.12 and the 400 Hurdles with a winning time of 58.80. Sibenaller took 2^nd in the 100 Meters (11.52), 200 Meters (23.88) and Long Jump (18-03.50) for Kuemper. Kuemper was 2^nd in the 4×400 with Koby Lampman, Patrick Hensel, Trevor Rial and Michael Pottebaum. They ran a 3:47.02. East Sac wrapped up the last 2^nd place finish for the local teams in the Shuttle Hurdle. The team of Alex Hauser, CJ Frank, Garrett Ortner and Ace Thelen ran a 1:01.54.

Several events finished in third for the local teams including Tyler Schmitt of East Sac in the 400 Meters and High Jump, Evan Jacobs of South Central Calhoun used a strong close in the 800 Meters for 3^rd, CJ Frank of East Sac in the 400 Hurdles, Cale Niehaus of East Sac in the Discus and East Sac Justin Rupnow in the Shot Put. The Raiders were 3^rd in the 4×100 with Alex Hauser, Cale Niehaus, Tyler Schmitt and Ace Thelen. Kuemper took 3^rd in the 4×800 with Koby Lampman, Dawson Gifford, Patrick Hensel and Trevor Rial and were 3^rd in the Sprint Medley with AJ Domer, Kyle Sundrup, Michael Kasperbauer and Mason Rohe.

IKM-Manning and Audubon At Treynor

IKM-Manning and Audubon had a good showing on Tuesday with the Wolves finishing 3^rd with 89 points and the Wheelers 4^th with 63 points. Treynor won their meet with 180 points easily outdistancing 2^nd place Underwood who finished with 108. The Wolves picked up three titles and Audubon finished with two first place finishes.

Quentin Dreyer of IKM-Manning is off to a solid start to the season winning both the 1600 Meters and 3200 Meters. He ran the 1600 in 4:53.01 and the 3200 in 10:46.26. The Wolves also won the Distance Medley in 3:59.44 with Drew Doyel, Amos Rasmussen, Hunter Smith and Quentin Dreyer. Gavin Smith of Audubon won the 400 Hurdles in 56.13 and was joined by Joel Klocke, Brandon Jensen and Collin Bauer on the winning Shuttle Hurdle team. The Wheelers finished with a 1:06.56. Smith continued his sharp night taking 2^nd in the 110 Hurdles in 15.97. IKM-Manning was also 2^nd in the 4×800 with Hunter Smith, Lane Sams, Justin Segebart and Connor Keller. They ran a 9:20.19.

Both teams had a few 3^rd place finishes. IKM-Manning took 3^rd in the 400 Hurdles with Liam Carter, 4×200 with Cooper Irlmeier, Justin Segebart, Eli Dreyer and Drew Doyel and the Shuttle Hurdle with Brody Blom, Eli Dreyer, Will Fara and Liam Carter. Audubon was 3^rd in the 4×400 with Matthew Beisswenger, Gavin Smith, Joel Klocke and Manuel Beisswenger. Matthew Beisswenger took 3^rd for the Wheelers in the 200 Meters.
