Carroll County Sheriff Urges Residents To Take Blizzard Warning Seriously

Carroll County Sheriff, Ken Pingrey, is cautioning residents about travel during the predicted blizzard for tonight (Thursday) through tomorrow (Friday). Forecasters are saying we could receive four to eight inches of snow, which will be combined with high winds. This will make travel impossible, creating dangerous whiteout conditions and drifting of snow. “If these conditions do materialize there will be a tow ban, state and county plows may be pulled off the roads and the Sheriff’s Office will not be able to respond to any calls until conditions improve,” Pingrey says. He cautions that, “If you do choose to travel and get stuck, wreck your vehicle, etc., you will be on your own.” He urges everyone to plan ahead so they don’t become stranded, or worse.
