Man Wanted By Storm Lake Police On Outstanding Warrants Surrenders Friday

A man Storm Lake Police have been searching for since Jan. 3 surrendered at the Buena Vista County jail today (Friday). Thirty-two-year-old Jesus Adrian Herrera Calcada of Storm Lake was wanted on warrants for first-degree burglary, a class B felony, domestic assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and child endangerment, aggravated misdemeanors, fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor, and two counts of violation of a no contact order and fifth-degree criminal mischief, simple misdemeanors. The warrants stem from a report received on Jan. 3 that a burglary had occurred in the 500 block of Lincoln Road. Police met with a female victim who alleges Herrera Calcada had forcefully entered the residence and a then a bedroom where the victim and her one-year-old daughter were located. She says he choked her and struck her in the face then armed himself with a knife and threatened to kill her. Police allege Herrera Calcada then discarded the knife and fled the residence. He has been booked into the jail and is being held without bond.
