Residents of Breda, Auburn and the surrounding rural areas were briefly without power Thursday morning. According to a MidAmerican Energy spokesperson, an issue with a transmission line resulted in an outage at approximately 11:20 a.m. Power to the approximately 300 affected customers was restored at 11:51 a.m., but it is still not clear what caused the service interruption. Crews are examining power lines in the region to identify the source of the problem in order to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
