Carroll County Public Health Announces Two Additional COVID-19-Related Deaths Wednesday

Carroll County Public Health announced Wednesday afternoon they have been notified of two additional coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the county’s total now to 11. Public health officials say one individual was between 61 and 80 years old and the other was in the 80-years-or-older age category. As of Wednesday afternoon, Carroll County stands at 1,044 total COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, 642 recovered and a 17.8% positivity rate. For the rest of the listening area: Audubon is at 134 cases, 76 recovered, one death and 5.9%; Calhoun 274 total, 231 recovered, four deaths and 8.6%; Crawford 1,324 cases, 1,047 recovered, 12 deaths and 16% positivity; Greene 178 positives, 100 recovered, zero deaths and 6.5%; Guthrie 373 total, 233 recovered, 15 deaths and 11.9%; and Sac 371 cases, 246 recovered and four deaths at 10%. To date, Iowa has recorded, 109,796 cases, 84,881 recovered and 1,583 deaths. Public health officials continue to stress the importance of physical distancing, wearing a face covering and washing hands frequently with soap and water.
