Lake City’s Annual Clean-Up Day Begins At 8 a.m. Saturday

Tomorrow (Saturday) is Lake City’s annual clean-up day, and city officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of the opportunity to clear out any old or unused items from their home or property. Administrator, Eric Wood, says larger items can be disposed of at the water plant on West Washington Street from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

He adds they will be offering curbside pick-up services on a very limited basis and are still in search of volunteers to assist with that effort.

The annual clean-up day is generally held following the annual citywide garage sales, but Wood says they were forced to adjust due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He reminds residents that some items, such as regular trash, computer materials, yard waste and construction debris, will not be accepted. Fees can be turned in to city hall prior to dropping off items or at the Washington Street water plant during the event. For more information, contact city hall at 712-464-3111.
