A local foundation is continuing to give back, asking for the community’s help to step up to assist a family in need. Ryan and Heather Hagge came up with the idea of the Mini Hagge Foundation after Ryan loss his younger brother, Brandon Hagge, to suicide in 2018. Ryan says the foundation’s mission is to help those who are hurting, by turning the memories of those lost into opportunities for love ones who grieve the most.
Ryan says when the Mini Hagge Foundation was created, he didn’t want it to be specifically focused on one area to help out with.
Ryan says the organization also helps out families in need by paying overdue lunch balances at local schools around Christmas time so a family doesn’t have to choose between celebrating the holidays and paying bills. The foundation’s latest request, is for financial donations to help a local high school student facing challenging times.
Heather says there are many ways for individuals to get involved and help.
Events include the Brandon Hagge Memorial Open golf tournament during the summer that they have been hosting since the beginning and coming up next month is the second annual Euchre Tournament. Heather says another way to get involved is by sponsoring one of the events or donating raffle prizes and encourages anyone who can help to do so. Ryan says over the last seven years, he thanks all the sponsors, everyone who has donated, or helped to spread the word on the foundation and the work they have and will continue to do.
Additional details on upcoming events can be found included on the Mini Hagge Foundation Facebook page. Links to that, contact information and a direct link to the foundation’s Venmo can be found below. Ryan says to continue supporting each other and to look for the foundation’s charity logo “YNK” which stands for “You Never Know” out in the community for additional ways to help.
