Two different projects for the City of Carroll will get underway this week. The installation of a mixing system and painting of the interior and exterior of the water tower is slated to start today (Tuesday) with a draining of the tower. The contractor will then be able to begin work on Wednesday. During the blasting, recoating and installation of the mixer, the city will utilize high-service pumps to maintain water pressure throughout the system. It has been approximately 20 years since the water tower has been repainted, and the city is using the need for this to be done to take the opportunity to install the mixing system to assist with water quality. This work is expected to be completed yet this fall. The second project at the city’s waste water treatment plant will take longer, with an anticipated completion date of early next year. Installation of a new Ultra Violet (UV) disinfection system will begin in the next few days.
