Carroll law enforcement and medical personnel were called to a residence at the corner of 9th and Carroll Streets at approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon on the report of an unresponsive resident. Police Chief, Brad Burke, says upon arrival, they found a deceased 24-year-old woman. It appeared as if she had passed away around 10 to 12 hours prior. At this point, the cause of death is unknown as there were no signs of physical trauma, but there is no suspicion of foul play. The body has been transported to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
