Carroll and East Sac faced off on a warm and windy Thursday, where the Tigers got the win. The Tigers scored all of their points in the first half, and East Sac fought well on defense in the second half.

The Tigers started off the scoring in this match when Deng Nyock scored a penalty kick with 33:53 left in the first half. East Sac kept the pressure on for a large portion of the first half, making it hard for Carroll to score consistently in this contest. Carroll eventually broke through and scored thanks to a goal from Emmanuel Jioklow with 17:46 left in the first half. Jireh Gallegos gave the Tigers another first half goal with 15:13 left to play in the first half. The Tigers scored once more to make it 4-0 thanks to Nick Sorensen who kicked a corner kick that was own goaled by East Sac.
The Tiger’s 4-0 lead at halftime was challenged consistently in the second half by East Sac. The Raiders had 13 shots on the day, including six shots on goal. They also, for some time in the second half, kept the ball on Carroll’s side. The Tigers blocked the ball and defended their goal well in the second half, leading to their 4-0 win.
Individually for East Sac, Luke Wernimont got his first varsity start at goalkeeper and did well, recording nine saves. The Raiders had 13 shots on goal, six of those shots on goal.
For the Carroll Tigers, Treyton Goins recorded 10 saves while Nolan Mohr had three saves. Deng Nyock, Jireh Gallegos, Emmanuel Jioklow, and Nick Sorensen were credited with one goal each.
The Tigers improve to 3-6 on the season as East Sac falls to 0-7. The Tigers are in action next when they take on the Gilbert Tigers on Tuesday, May 4th. East Sac will take on Underwood next at the Treynor tournament on Saturday, May 1st.

Greene County at Kuemper

Kuemper: 0
The Kuemper Knights fought hard but fell a bit short against Greene County Thursday. The lone goal made in this contest was by Greene County who scored it in the first half. The Knights, coming off wins against Carroll and Panorama, tried to mount a comeback for their third win in four games, but Greene County pushed back. Greene County won this game 1-0 in regulation.
Individually for Kuemper, Noah Bauer ended the game with eight saves for the Knights. The Knights fall to 4-4 on the season as Greene County improves to 7-3. Kuemper is in action next when they take on Van Meter at the West Central Valley tournament on Saturday, May 1st.
