Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office Responds To Two Accidents

The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to two accidents over the past few days. The first occurred on Saturday, April 10 on Iowa Highway 141 near Horn Avenue, west of Bayard. A teenage female from Glidden was westbound in a 2008 Dodge Caliber at approximately 9:15 p.m. when she struck a deer. The driver complained of possible minor injuries, but was not transported for treatment. There was an estimated $10,000 in damage to the car. The second accident was reported at approximately 9:36 a.m. on Monday, April 12. Forty-eight-year-old Brian S. Cox of Grand Island was northbound on Frontier Road in a 2021 Infiniti Q5 when the vehicle dropped off onto the northbound shoulder. Cox lost control, entered the north ditch and struck a field drive. He was transported for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. There was an estimated $30,000 in damage to the Infiniti.
