Templeton Man Uninjured After Leaving Road And Hitting Utility Pole In Heavy Fog Last Friday

A Templeton man escaped injury when he ran his vehicle off the road in heavy fog last Friday morning. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 1:34 a.m. Friday at 295th Street and Olympic Avenue, north of Dedham. Twenty-four-year-old Kenneth Thomas White was westbound on 295th Street in a 2018 Jeep Compass when he failed to stop at the posted sign at Olympic Avenue. He crossed over Olympic and struck a power pole, knocking it down. The Jeep continued into a field, coming to rest on its side. Because of the heavy fog, the Dedham Fire Department also responded to the scene to control traffic around the power lines downed on the roadway until Racoon Valley Electric Cooperative could get them removed. There was an Estimated $20,000 in damage to the Jeep and $10,000 in damage to the power pole. White was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and with leaving the scene of an accident.
