The Crawford Area Republican Women will host the next installment of their candidate meet-and-greet series on Thursday, featuring gubernatorial candidate Adam Steen and U.S. Senate candidate Jim Carlin. The event will run from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Bake Shop & Café Event Center just off of Highway 30 in Denison. The gathering is part of the organization’s series created to provide voters an opportunity to hear directly from candidates ahead of Iowa’s June 2 primary election. Steen previously served as director of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services under Gov. Kim Reynolds and stepped down to run for governor. Carlin is a Sioux City-based attorney and Army veteran who has served in both the Iowa House of Representatives and the Iowa Senate.
