Dog Attack In Lidderdale Injured Resident And Killed Dog On Nov. 4

A dog attack in Lidderdale caused injuries to woman and fatally wounded her dog last week. According to Carroll County District Court records, the victim was out walking her dog on Nov. 4 around 5:40 p.m., when she was approached by two other dogs in the roadway near the intersection of Sampson Ave and 2nd Street. The male and female dog, owned by 31-year-old Josh Tyrone Potocki of Lidderdale, then allegedly attacked, causing bite marks across her body and fatal injuries to her dog. According to the criminal complaint, Potocki admitted to not having control of his dogs, causing them to be at large, and leaving his property in the 100 block of Sampson Street. The where-a-bouts of the dogs and any further action against them is unknown at this time. A community meeting was held in Lidderdale this past Monday to discuss the incident and safety concerns from other residents. Potoski has been ordered to appear at the Carroll County Courthouse on Dec. 4. He is facing four simple misdemeanor charges for two counts of a dog at large and two additional counts of a vicious dog. A maximum sentence of up to 4 months in jail and over $3,000 in fines may be carried out across all charges if he is convicted.
