A section of Iowa Highway 39 in Denison will be closed down for about a week and a half for pavement repairs. The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) will close the highway from U.S. Highway 59 to Avenue C beginning on Monday, Oct. 18. If there are no weather or other delays, it is anticipated the road will be reopened on Wednesday, Oct. 27. During the construction project, motorists will be detoured around the work zone by using U.S. 59, Arrowhead Road and Avenue C.
