Carroll Man Pleads Not Guilty To Second Drug Trafficking Charge This Year

A Carroll man pled not guilty last week to a second round of felony drug charges levied against him in District Court for Carroll County. Fifty-six-year-old Michael Ohara Sherrod filed his written plea Friday to one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class C felony with habitual offender enhancements, possession of contraband in a correctional facility, a class D felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor. Sherrod was arrested by the Carroll Police Department on July 10 on an outstanding warrant stemming from a March 21 incident. Authorities allege he was found with 18.5 grams of methamphetamine in individually wrapped packages and seven pills of a schedule IV-controlled substance. Sherrod was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison for a separate drug trafficking incident. If found guilty of the newest charges, an additional 15 years could be added to his sentence.
