There Were A Lot of Great Individual and Relay Performances on Tuesday As All 10 Area Girls Teams Were in Action

Kuemper At Madrid

Kenzie Schon, Grace C Hoffman and Kyra Wolterman had solid evenings for Kuemper as the girls placed 5th with 53 points at the meet in Madrid. Van Meter won the championship with 150 points and Earlham was 2nd with 123 followed by the host Tigers of Madrid at 119. The Knights placed in the top 3 in four individual events and one relay.

Schon won another Shot Put with her best throw at 37-03.50, she was also 2nd in the Discus with her best a 91-02. Grace C Hoffman had a strong run in the 400 Hurdles finishing in 2nd with a 1:16.28. Kyra Wolterman took 3rd in the 3000 Meters in 14:15.05. Grace C Hoffman teamed up with Megan Scott, Macy Blum and Catherine Mayhall to take 3rd in the 4×200. The girls ran a 1:58.67.

Carroll At Missouri Valley

Carroll finished in the top 3 in seven individual events and two relays helping them to a top 3 team finish at a strong meet on Tuesday. The Tigers placed two runners in the top 3 in the 100 Meters and used their depth in the sprints to finish well in the 4×100 and 4×200. Shay Sinnard and Josie Ayala teamed up to take two of the top 3 spots in the long jump and Vanessa Ayala was also solid in the throwing events as Carroll finished 3rd overall with 91 points and were just 5 points shy of 2nd place Treynor who finished with 96 points. Harlan won the meet with 144 points.

Hannah Jorgensen in the 100 Meters in 13.15 and Shay Sinnard in the Long Jump at 16-01.50 gave Carroll their two individual titles. Those two teamed with Libby Perkins and Madison Tunning to win the 4×200 in 1:52.41. Jorgensen, Sinnard and Perkins also helped the 4×100 take 2nd place along with a solid run from Alex Klein as they finished in 53.19. Klein was sharp as well in the 100 Meters finishing 3rd in 13.68. Marie Dea continues her strong start to the season taking 2nd in the 800 Meters in 2:38.82. Madison Tunning added a 3rd place in the 400 Hurdles in 1:15.83, Josie Ayala was 3rd in the Long Jump at 14-02.25 and Vanessa Ayala was 3rd in the Shot Put at 32-11.00.

Ar-We-Va, Coon Rapids Bayard and IKM-Manning At Bob Clark Relays At Audubon

The Audubon Wheelers honored longtime coach Bob Clark on Tuesday by naming the Co-Ed relays in his honor. Clark has long been one of the elite hurdle and track coaches in the state passed away earlier this season. The girl’s team ran very well on his night finishing in 2nd place with 84 points. They only trailed Underwood who finished with 100 points. IKM-Manning finished 7th with 45 points followed by Ar-We-Va with 37 points. Coon Rapids Bayard also competed but with limited kids didn’t have any events finish in the top 6 and didn’t score any team points.

Audubon finished top 3 in four events but showed their depth and talent in the relays with five relays in the top 3 including two winning relays. IKM-Manning had five individual events in the top 3 and added a relay as well. Ar-We-Va had two individuals finish in the top 3 and a relay.

Hannah Thygesen of Audubon won another individual championship in the 800 Meters in 2:35.20. She had the only individual title for the four schools. Alexa Ahrenholtz of IKM-Manning was sharp again with 2nd place finishes in the 100 Meters (13.21) and the 200 Meters (27.92). She was also 3rd in the High Jump at 5-00. Elizabeth Zaiger of Audubon was 2nd in the Discus (111-11) and 3rd in the Shot Put (35-07). Ar-We-Va nabbed a pair of 2nd places with Kora Obrecht having a PR in the Long Jump at 15-11 and Maggie Ragaller looking strong in the 400 Hurdles in 1:16.30. Morgan Hanson of IKM-Manning was 3rd in the 3000 Meters in 12:34.20. Other 3rd place individual finishers were Madison Steckler of Audubon in the 100 Meters at 13.30 and Bianca Cadwell of IKM-Manning in the 400 Meters in 1:06.12.

Relays were a strength especially for Audubon wining the 4×400 in 4:23.10 with Madison Steckler, Mattie Nielsen, Abigail Zaiger and Hannah Thygesen. The Wheelers were 2nd in the Sprint Medley with Steckler, Mattie Nielsen, Abigail Zaiger and Thygesen in 1:57.94, won the Shuttle Hurdle in 1:12.55 with Steckler, Mattie Nielsen, Madison Burr and Katelyn Nielsen. IKM-Manning took 3rd in the Sprint Medley in 2:02.20 with Amber Halbur, Maddie Snyder, Bianca Cadwell and Alexa Ahrenholtz. Aududbon was 3rd in the 4×800 in 11:09.13 with Audrey Jensen, Kodie Sporrer, Grace Slater and Jordan Porsch. The Wheelers were also 3rd in the Distance Medley with Katelyn Nielsen, Abigail Zaiger, Mattie Nielsen and Hannah Thygesen in 4:38.43. Ar-We-Va captured 3rd in the 4×200 in 1:58.58 with Hannah Kraus, Kallie Bromert, Maggie Ragaller and Jadeyn Smith.

South Central Calhoun At OA-BCIG

The Titans finished in 7th place out of eight teams on Tuesday with 36 points.  The meet in Ida Grove was very strong with Ridge View winning with 116 points, OA-BCIG 2nd in 100 points and Fort Dodge with 95 points and Heelan with 72 points. The Titans had one event in the top 3.

Jade Ridgely took 3rd in the 200 Meters in 28.26.

East Sac At Alta-Aurelia

It was a solid night for East Sac with four individual events in the top 3 and three relays taking top 3 including two of them in 2nd place. The Raiders finished 3rd overall with 72 points and were only 10 points behind Alta-Aurelia for 2nd place. The host Warriors scored 82 points but were well behind the champion in Sioux Central with 130 points.

Brooke Jergens was the Raiders lone champion winning the 200 Meters in 27.64. Meredith Brown took 2nd for the Raiders in the 400 Hurdles in 1:16.20. Emma Schroeder had another strong day taking 2nd in both the 3000 Meters (12:24.55) and the 1500 Meters (5:52.69). The Sprint Medley team of Carly Fischer, Meredith Brown, Jen Aschinger and Brooke Jergens were 2nd in 2:04.63, the 4×100 team with the same four girls was also 2nd in 53.90. Emma Schroeder, Ashlyn Arbegast, Mary Bontrager and Abby Scott teamed up for 3rd in the Distance Medley in 5:11.61.

Glidden Ralston and Paton Churdan At Hawk Relays

Vanessa Koehler and Alexia Nelson of Glidden Ralston were strong in individual events and the Wildcats got a strong showing from their Distance Medley team as they finished 5th with 65 points. Danielle Hoyle continues her strong start in the throwing events for Paton Churdan and Rockets had a few other solid performances as they finished 6th with 31 points. Nodaway Valley won the meet with 162 points and was followed by Woodward Granger with 105 points.

The Wildcats Koehler won the 100 Meters (13.16), High Jump (4-10) and was 2nd in the 200 Meters (27.43) and the 100 Hurdles (17.11).  Danielle Hoyle won the Shot Put (37-06) and was 2nd in the Discus (107-05) for Paton Churdan. Alexia Nelson of Glidden Ralston continues her strong showing in the distance events with 2nd place in the 1500 Meters (5:52.44) and 3rd in the 3000 Meters (12:53.06).  The Wildcats Distance Medley team brought home the Wildcats third event championship in 5:03.99 with Savannah Bennett, Morgan Tuel, Alexia Nelson and Tiela Janssen.
