Girls Track Results April 6th, 2021

 

Kuemper, Carroll, Paton Churdan, and South Central Calhoun at SE Valley

 

Kuemper, Carroll, Paton Churdan, and South Central Calhoun’s girls track teams competed Tuesday at the Richard Ryan Relays. Kuemper and Carroll were put into the class A group of teams, consisting of Southeast Valley, Webster City, Pocahontas Area, and EG. Carroll would finish in second place in the team standings with 136 points, while Kuemper finished in 5th with a final team score of 72. The Tigers would finish in first place in seven different events and second in five separate events. The Knights were also impressive with two second place finishes and one first place finish. 

 

South Central Calhoun and Paton Churdan participated in the Class B group of teams, consisting of Mason NW Webster, Newell Fonda, St, Edmond, West Bend Mallard, and GTRA. The Titans were able to finish in fourth place in team standings with 76 team points. The Rockets finish in seventh place with 14 team points. 

 

The Tigers won the longer distance races as Marie Dea won the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:40.24 and Julia Kanne won the 3000 meter run with a time of 13:10.17. Hannah Jorgenson was part of three first place events, her solo first place finish came at the 200 meter dash with a first place time of 28.13. Jorgenson was also part of the 4X100 team, comprised of Libby Perkins, Kennedy Thein, and Shay Sinnard, who finished in first place with a time of 52.97, and the 4X200 team, comprised of Brenna Goins, Perkins, and Sinnard, finishing with a first place time of 1:54.06. The two other relay teams to get first place finishes for the Tigers included the 4X400 team, comprised of Ava Gross, Averi Burke, Brenne Goins, and Madison Tunning, who finished with a time of 4:38.52, and the Distance Medley team, including Alex Klein, Thein, Gross, and Dea, who finished with a time of 4:51.77. 

 

For the Kuemper Knights, Grace Hoffman would win the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:15.74. Brooklyn Gifford would finish in second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:55.06. The 4X100 relay team, composed of Megan Scott, Kailee Strum, Cate Mayhall, and Macy Blum, finished in second place with a time of 55.72. Kenzie Schon was able to do well in the discus event, throwing 90-07, good for third place. 

 

Keira Hammen for the Titans was able to finish in first place in discus with a throw of 89-09. Jade Ridgely finished in second place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.23. Kortney Riley finished in second place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.65. She teamed up with Olivia Toms, Lilly Kalous, and Claire Riat in the shuttle hurdle race which finished in second place with a time of 1:20.93. Laura Greene was able to give the titans their fourth top two placement with a second place long jump of 14-02.75. 

 

For the Paton Churdan Rockets, Danielle Hoyle did great in the throwing events, finishing in fourth place in discus with a throw of 83-08 and second in the shot put with a throw of 34-00.00. Carmyn Paup would also contribute to Paton her team’s points with a fifth place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.71.

East Sac at Ridge View

 

The East Sac County Raiders continued to improve and find their groove at the 80th annual Ridge View Relays on Tuesday. The Raiders as a team took home three top five finishes and as a team, finished 10th overall in the team standings with 23 points, tied with Westwood. 

 

Olivia Blum finished in fifth place in the 100 meter run with a time of 18.33. Meredith Brown would run well in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing in fourth place with a time of 1:16.12. Brown also teamed up with Carly Fischer, Brooke Jergens, and Mary Bontrager in the distance medley which finished in 5th place with a time of 5:00.01. Fischer was also part of the 4X100 team, along with Brooke Jergens, Kierstin Carroll, and Olivia Blum, which finished in sixth place with a time of 55.00. Emma Schroeder was able to get her team points in the 400 meter dash with a seven place finish with a time of 1:10.53. She teamed up with Mary Bontrager, Anna McCollough, and Abby Scott in the 4X800 relay which finished in 7th with a time of 12:23.00.

IKM-Manning at Riverside

 

The IKM-Manning Wolves were able to walk away with three first place finishes and one second place finish at their track meet Monday at Riverside. The Wolves as a team finished in fifth place with 50 points, behind team champion Underwood with 168 points, followed by Riverside with 90 points, AHSTW with 86 points, and Tri-Center with 54 points. 

Alexa Ahrenholtz had a successful day as she took first place in the high jump with a jump of 4-10.00 and first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.80. Ahrenholtz was also part of the distance medley team, along with Maddie Snyder, Amber Halbur, and Bianca Cadwell, who took first place with a time of 4:53.54. That same set of athletes were able to take second place in the sprint medley relay with a time of 2:03.03. The other top three finish the Wolves took home was their shuttle hurdle team, composed of Amber Halbur, Abbagail Neiheisel, Jessica Christensen, and Maddie Snyder, that finished in third with a time of 1:24.81.
