With approval from Carroll County Public Health, both the Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) and Carroll County mass vaccination clinics have been opened up to any eligible resident, 16 and older for the Pfizer vaccine and 18 and older for the Moderna. MRHC is holding their vaccination clinic tomorrow (Wednesday, March 31), and Jill Arp, the Infection Prevention and Disaster Preparedness Coordinator, says they had about 75 doses available as of 10 a.m. Tuesday morning
People will still need to register for either clinic and these will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
Arp says when you sign up on that link, you will also pick the date and time you will return for the second shot. The Carroll County Public Health mass vaccination clinic is being held from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 1 at the former Edge 2 and Christopher Banks stores in the Westgate Mall in Carroll. They have been allocated 1,170 doses of the Pfizer vaccine, and have now opened appointments to anyone 16 and older for that clinic. The vaccine is free of charge at both sites, but there is an administration fee that is covered by insurance, so all patients will need to bring their insurance card and a driver’s license or other form of approved ID. Arp explains some of the typical side effects people are experiencing after they receive a vaccination.
She says if symptoms last more than 48 hours, your fever is over 101 and is not brought down by medication or you have any redness traveling from the injection site to contact your healthcare provider.
