Felony drug charges were filed Friday in District Court for Carroll County against a Spencer man found to be in possession of narcotics during a May 2020 traffic stop. According to court records, 23-year-old Andrew Daryl Adams, formerly of Wall Lake, is charged with two counts of third-offense possession of a controlled substance, class D felonies. Adams was stopped by the Carroll Police Department in the 100 block of E. 5th Street during the early morning hours of May 10. Items believed to be methamphetamine, marijuana and alprazolam, more commonly known as Xanax, were seized by law enforcement. The materials were sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Laboratory for testing and results returned positive. Adams’ arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 25. Each class D felony carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
