A Jefferson Police Officer was called in to investigate an unusual incident Monday. At approximately 5:44 p.m., a resident contacted them about damage done to their vehicle sometime in the past week while it was parked in the 200 block of East Park Street. That damage, however, was not noticed until the owner took the vehicle to a local gas station and began pumping fuel, which then ran out onto the ground. A mechanic advised that someone had intentionally cut the fuel line from the gas cap to the tank, apparently in an attempt to steal gasoline.
