Regional Deaths Rise By Six Over Holiday Week While One County Reports Lowest Positivity Rate In State

Over the last holiday weekend, three area counties report a total of six coronavirus-related deaths, two-week positivity rates overall tick up slightly, but one area county reports the lowest rate in the state. Carroll, Crawford and Guthrie Counties have reported additional COVID-19 deaths. Carroll County is up by four to 31 with a 16.7 percent positivity rate, 2,407 total cases with 2,064 recovered. Crawford County ticked up by one death right before New Years, now at a total of 22 and they have the fourth highest positivity rate in the state at 25 percent with 2,140 cases and 1,848 recovered. And Guthrie County’s death total rose by one to 23 with a 16.6 percent positivity rate, 962 cases with 805 recovered. As of 7 a.m. Monday, Calhoun is listed as the county with the lowest two-week positivity rate in the state at 4.3 percent, 1,174 cases, 1,103 recovered and nine deaths. For the rest of the region: Audubon is at 10 percent with 385 positives, 314 recovered and seven deaths; Greene County is at 9.6 percent with 650 cases, 555 of which are recovered and seven deaths; and Sac County is at 9.3 percent with 1,046 cases, 922 recovered and 14 deaths.
