Maple River Man Arrested On Interference Charges During Tuesday Traffic Stop. Drug Charges Pending

A routine traffic stop in Carroll Tuesday afternoon escalated, resulting in the arrest of a Maple River man. The Carroll Police Department reports officers made that traffic stop in the 600 block of Granada Road at approximately 3:49 p.m. Thirty-two-year-old Nicholas Russell Pickering was driving on a suspended license and proceeded to fight with the officers at the scene. In the course of his arrest, a substance suspected to be methamphetamine was located on Pickering and seized. Charges, in addition to those for driving on a suspended license and interference with official acts, are pending test results on the substance from the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Laboratory.
