Calhoun County has seen a dramatic decrease in two-week COVID-19 positivity rates in the past 24 hours but has reported another death. At this time Wednesday morning, Calhoun had the second highest rates in the state at 40.6 percent. As of 6 a.m. Thursday, they are now fourth at 29.5 percent with 929 cases, 353 recovered and seven deaths. Carroll drops to 21st in the state with a 26 percent rate, 1,795 cases, 1,082 recovered and 16 coronavirus-related deaths. Sac County reports a 23 percent positivity rate with 719 cases, 381 recovered and seven deaths. Audubon remains the only county in the listening area with a rate below 20 and is the fifth lowest in the state at 13 percent. They have 270 cases, 138 recovered and one death. In the rest of the region: Crawford County is at 20.1 percent with 1,645 cases, 1,329 recovered and 15 deaths; Greene is at 26 percent with 446 positives, 182 recovered and no reported deaths; and Guthrie is at 24.1 percent with 666 positives, 366 recovered and 15 deaths. Two of the four area long-term care centers reporting outbreaks are nearly cleared. St. Anthony Regional Hospital’s nursing facility now has 10 of 13 cases recovered and the Denison Care Center is reporting 36 of 40 cases recovered. Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Carroll has eight of 18 cases recovered and the Exira Care Center has one of 20.
