The Iowa State Patrol and Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident last Friday at approximately 8:25 a.m. on D Avenue near 310th Street. The driver, 64-year-old Michael Albert Henning of Scranton, reported he struck loose gravel while northbound on D Avenue and lost control of the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria he was driving. The car left the roadway, struck an embankment in the west ditch and spun back onto the roadway, coming to rest facing northbound in the southbound lane. Henning was transported for treatment of suspected minor injuries and there was a reported $3,000 in damage to the car.
