For about the last four years, the Kuemper Catholic School System has been providing updates on their long-range planning at their annual Town Hall meetings. The 2020 meeting is planned for tonight, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria and President, John Steffes, says they have introduced a new element this year.
Several different topics will be addressed. There will be a representative from Catholic Charities on hand for a mental health discussion titled, “Recognizing the Difference Between Normal and Concerning Behaviors,” a chance to get more in-depth on the long-range plans and another half hour session will discuss the creation of Kuemper saints through virtues, but that is not all.
Steffes previews what topics will be brought up prior to the smaller group meetings.
One of the most recent changes, the shifting of grades to different buildings, was just such a topic vetted during the Kuemper Town Halls. Parents and stakeholders are, of course, invited to attend, but this is also open to anyone from the general public who would like to learn more or take part in the breakout sessions. Again, the Town Hall will begin at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday, Feb. 20) in the Kuemper High School cafeteria. The welcome and update will take about 15 minutes and then attendees will be invited to attend a breakout session. These will last approximately a half hour and then another topic can be selected for a second round of sessions. The entire event is expected to last until about 8:15 p.m.
