Refuse truck manufacturer, New Way Trucks, Inc. of Scranton, has announced their expansion with a fourth location in Booneville, Miss. Labeled “Project Wolverine” the 152,000 square-foot facility at 1 Wolverine Drive is basically move-in ready. The Iowa-based company is now set to begin the hiring process, creating an estimated 100 jobs to begin with as they work toward an operational start date in the next three months. “We are thrilled to be working with the team from Booneville, Prentiss County and the state of Mississippi, who have already made us feel at home,” says CEO, Mike McLaughlin. Once up and running, the site will begin with production of the Cobra and Viper rear loader trucks with other products to follow. “Our products are in high demand, and a new Mississippi facility provides a strategic advantage that will benefit our customers and extensive dealer network,” says Executive Vice-President, John McLaughlin. Situated on a 40-acre tract of land, there is plenty of room for future expansion if necessary. Mississippi Gov., Phil Bryant, welcomed New Way to the state, saying this is yet another example of how Mississippi is a place where businesses can find a top-notch, skilled workforce and a supportive business environment. He says, “Leaders at the state and local levels are dedicated to strengthening communities through economic growth, as evidenced by New Way’s commitment to create 100 jobs in Prentiss County.”
