Only minor damage was reported in a backing accident Monday afternoon in Carroll. At approximately 12:44 p.m., the Carroll Police Department was called to the 100 block of West 2nd Street. They found that a 2000 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 20-year-old Troy Shoesmith of Carroll, had backed out of a drive and proceeded east on 2nd Street. Forty-nine-year-old Daniel Hicks of Carroll was also backing a 2007 Toyota Tacoma from a drive and struck the Shoesmith vehicle. No injuries were reported. Hicks was cited for unsafe backing.
