Four people were transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries following a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon. At approximately 3:32 p.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene on Ivy Avenue. The initial investigation into the incident revealed that 17-year-old Grant Walter Wiederin of Breda was traveling southbound on Ivy Avenue in a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country van. He lost control, skidding into the northbound lane and striking a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by 31-year-old Kayla Noel Venner of Carroll. The Wiederin van came to rest in a farm field while the Venner vehicle ended up in the east ditch. Wiederin was transported by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for injuries. Venner, and two children who were passengers, were transported to the hospital by private vehicle. There was an estimated $12,000 in damages to Venner’s van and $6,500 to Wiederin’s vehicle. Wiederin was cited for failure to maintain control.
