The first accredited, private Christian school in Greene County will offer families a new approach to a faith-led education to elementary students. Now accepting enrollment for the 2026-27 school year, Foundations Elementary School (FES) is utilizing the student center established at Abundant Life Ministries in Jefferson to create a hybrid learning model for students Kindergarten through third grade. Pastor at Abundant Life Ministries and Administrator for FES, Isaak Wangler says it was last summer during a church meeting with the Board of Elders that the question was raised if a Christian school was something that could be possible after hearing from families that attend the church.
Wangler says what makes FES stand out the most from other educational programs throughout Greene County and even surrounding communities would be the hybrid-learning model.
Kindergarten and first grade would be on campus Monday and Tuesdays with second and third graders learning on site on Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays would be what Wangler says is an “all-school” day with all grade levels.
Base tuition is planned at $8,000 per year, with some adjustments made if a family would prefer students attend all five days ($1,800 additional per year) and an exemption out of a parent volunteer requirement of one day a month ($900 additional per year). Due to becoming an accredited school, Wangler says families that enroll are eligible for an Education Savings Account (ESA), which right now are set for $7,988 per student. Applications for enrollment at FES are now being accepted and Wangler encourages anyone interested to reach out for more information.
