Florida Man Suspected Of Theft From Carroll Business Arrested After Fleeing From Authorities At Speeds Over 100 MPH

The Carroll Police Department has arrested a Florida man after he reached speeds in excess of 100 mph while fleeing from authorities Tuesday. At approximately 10:45 a.m., law enforcement responded to the Walmart at 2014 Kittyhawk Ave. after an employee reported a theft from the store. The suspect, 28-year-old Anthony Gerome Moore of Tampa, Fla., was speaking with an officer in the parking lot when he fled from the exchange. Moore sped away southbound in a 2017 Nissan Maxima, running a stop sign, before heading west on Highway 30. The pursuit continued into Crawford County at speeds of at least 115 mph before ending north of Denison when Moore’s vehicle ran out of gas. Moore was arrested at approximately 11:52 a.m. and charged with eluding at speeds over 25 mph over the limit, an aggravated misdemeanor, reckless driving, a simple misdemeanor, speeding violations, passing on the wrong side and failure to obey a stop sign. Additional charges against Moore are possible.
