Founders, Dignitaries And Surprise Guests To Speak At Waspy’s Truck Stop Ribbon Cutting In Templeton

The grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon (Wednesday) at the new Waspy’s Truck Stop in Templeton will feature several dignitaries as speakers and there may even be a special surprise in the works. In just a little under one year since the groundbreaking ceremony last June 2, the Handlos family will be hosting the grand opening, where Lawrence and Doris will share their story. Other speakers include Brian and Beth Handlos as well as Chris Danner. Gov. Kim Reynolds is expected to make an appearance as well as 4th Congressional District Congressman, Steve King. Organizers have also indicated that in addition to Templeton Mayor, Ken Behrens, and various ethanol representatives, there may be one more surprise visitor who will be on hand to speak. Attendees are encouraged to stop by and register for door prizes during the event and to see the impressive new building and out lot that features 24 overnight spaces for semi parking, an RV parking area and dump station, a gazebo, and a car wash. They also carry about every type of fuel imaginable, from diesel, off-road diesel, high-octane premium and unleaded with or without ethanol to E15, E25 and E85 as well as kerosene.
