Shake Off The Winter Blues With Snowshoeing Class This Sunday

Compared to what we have had to deal with in the past couple of weeks, it looks like a heat wave in the forecast with temperatures predicted to climb to around 32 degrees over the weekend. This is the perfect opportunity to get out and shake off a little cabin fever, and Sac County Conservation wants to give you the opportunity to bone up on your snowshoeing skills or learn the moves necessary to keep you on top of the snow. There will be a presentation on the history of snowshoeing and lessons on the proper way to use the devices before going on a guided hike on Sunday, January 24, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Sac County Conservation Building in Hagge Park. There is a limited number of snowshoes that will fit ages seven and up, but participants are welcome to bring their own equipment to this free event. To register contact Sac County Conservation at 712-662-4530 or by emailing to sccbnat@frontiernet.net.
