There are a variety of creative ways for people to announce their home for sale, but one disgruntled homeowner in Manning has taken a completely different approach. Levi Gray, who lives in the 11th block of Center Street in south Manning, recently hung a large professionally- printed white vinyl sign with red lettering, complete with lights on his front porch that reads, “NAZI MANNING, IOWA WHERE THE LOCAL POLICE LIE & THE CITY COUNCIL TELLS YOU HOW YOU CAN & CAN’T LIVE IN THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN HOME.” In smaller letters at the bottom, “House for sale by owner” has been added. City officials’ only comment on the statement is they believe it is a response to the homeowner’s disapproval of a city ordinance that limits animal ownership within the Manning city limits to three. Carroll Broadcasting reached out to Gray, but has not yet received a response.
