Five People Uninjured in Two-Vehicle Accident Near Jefferson

At approximately 7:31 a.m. yesterday (Thursday), the Greene County Sheriff’s office reported to the scene of a two vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Neola Avenue and 310th Street south of Jefferson. Thirty-six-year-old Amy Ann Purdie of Jefferson was driving a 2014 Honda Odyssey southbound on Neola Ave. and slowing for a vehicle turning right onto 310th Street when she was struck from behind by a 2003 Toyota 4 Runner driven by 18-year-old Daric Christopher Whipple of Jefferson. Purdie and her three children were uninjured in the accident, but her vehicle sustained an estimated $3,000 in damages. Whipple was uninjured as well and his vehicle sustained an estimated $2,000 in damages. Charges are pending for Whipple until a full investigation is completed.
