Some Kuemper Students Will Be Attending Classes At A Different Building Site In The Fall Of This Year

During the last school year, the Kuemper Catholic School System completed a study exploring the idea of bringing all grades onto one campus. During that examination, the committee was also open to ideas that would result in a streamlining of their resources for the benefit of the students and staff. At its conclusion, it was decided to not merge into one centralized campus. However, at the most recent school board meeting on Tuesday, March 26, one of those ideas was approved and there will be a shift in location for specific grades. Beginning in the fall of this year, students in grades four and five, who currently attend classes at the St. Angela Center on East Street, will be moved to the St. Lawrence Middle School building on West Street. The seventh- and eighth-grade students will then be moved to the St. Angela Center. The board has said they believe this model presents the most opportunities for the most students system wide for now and into the future. The decision, they add, is also a reflection of their Vision Statement: “Employing continuous improvement strategies to develop excellence in academic achievement, faith formation and school activities.”
