Sewer Rates To Increase For Lake View Residents For Fifth Consecutive Year

Earlier this week, the Lake View City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance that would raise sewer rates for the fifth year in a row. The increase does not come unexpectedly. City Administrator, Scott Peterson, says officials started raising rates in 2014 to prepare for the lagoon project that is currently under construction.

Peterson notes that even though the rate hike did pass its first reading, it will still take some time before customers see the change reflected on their bills.

Construction on Lake View’s new lagoon, which the 12.5-percent yearly rate increases are meant to finance, got underway in the summer of 2018 and is estimated to be finished later this year.
