McCrary Rost Provider Sees Mental Health Need In Rural Iowa And Fills It

One of the medical providers with McCrary Rost Clinics saw a community need and has pursued and received the education necessary to fill it. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) Stephanie Bellcock says as she actively practiced family medicine, she recognized the need for mental health providers in rural Iowa and has recently earned a post-master’s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certificate from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. According to U.S. News & World Report, this is the top accredited nursing program for both its master’s and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. “I am thankful to have had the opportunity to further advance my education through Johns Hopkins University and I look forward to helping bridge the gap in mental healthcare throughout our rural communities,” Bellcock says. She will be collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated healthcare for patients with mental illnesses. The services offered will include evaluations, individualized treatment plans and medication management. Bellcock will be taking mental health appointments at McCrary Rost Clinics in Lake City on Monday mornings and on Tuesday and Friday mornings in Lake View. She will also continue to provide family medical care to patients on those afternoons and on Thursdays.
