Carroll Man Accused Of Having Sexual Contact With A Minor Pleads Not Guilty

A Carroll man accused of having sexual contact with a minor has entered a not guilty plea to the felony charge levied against him. Nineteen-year-old Devon Dewaine Lentz submitted his written plea to a single count of lascivious acts with a child, a class C felony, in District Court for Carroll County earlier this week. A pretrial conference has been scheduled for Sept. 23 at the Carroll County Courthouse with the jury trial slated to begin on Oct. 22. The charge stems from an investigation into an incident on May 6 by the Carroll Police Department. Authorities allege Lentz went to the 12-year-old female victim’s home, kissed her on the lips, and engaged in indecent sexual contact. If found guilty of the charge, Lentz faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
